Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ reacted to the removal of a banner hung on his party's Düzce Provincial Presidency building, which read, "No Amnesty for the Murderers of Our Children - There Is No Negotiation with Terror, Only Struggle."
In a statement on his social media account, Özdağ noted that according to information conveyed by police to the provincial chairman via telephone, the banner was removed by fire department crews on the orders of the prosecutor's office in Düzce.
Has it become a crime to say there is no amnesty for the murderers of our children? What do you want to be written on the banner?
Objecting to the decision in his statement, Özdağ called for the same banner to be hung at all Zafer Party provincial presidencies.
Özdağ stated that they would also hang the banner in question at the party's headquarters in Ankara.
In Özdağ's post, it was noted that the message on the banner at the Düzce Provincial Presidency carried an emphasis on the struggle against, rather than negotiation with, terrorism.
