The X account of the Freedom of Expression Association's EngelliWeb project, which monitors and documents access blocks, has been blocked. The account has not yet been made invisible from Turkey by X.
In recent weeks, access ban decisions for numerous X accounts and websites have come to the fore in Turkey. On September 26, access bans were imposed on many accounts, including those of journalists, academics, and accounts sharing content in the field of economy and finance, on the grounds of "protecting national security and public order."
On September 28, at least 150 X accounts, including those of journalists and lawyers, were blocked. On September 30, EngelliWeb announced that at least 147 more accounts sharing information about the funding crisis had been blocked. On the same day, an access ban was also issued for the T24 website and its X account, which has 1.9 million followers.
