DİSK Basın-İş issued a statement regarding the appointment of a trustee to Halk TV and the suspension of the channel's broadcast.
In a post shared on DİSK Basın-İş's X account, it was stated that the practice applied to TELE1 last year is being repeated at Halk TV today, and the statement included the following: "This situation clearly demonstrates that there is no legal security left for the media in Turkey."
The statement emphasized that the decision is not limited to stopping the broadcast, but also targets the jobs and futures of the media workers employed at Halk TV.
"We stand with our hundreds of colleagues and the workers of Halk TV. We invite the entire public to defend press freedom, the right to access information, and the labor of our colleagues."
