Journalists come together for the freedom of Furkan Karabay

Journalist-authors Barış Terkoğlu, Filiz Gazi, Barış Pehlivan, and İsmail Arı will meet with readers and sign books for imprisoned journalist Furkan Karabay tomorrow at Tekin Bookstore in Üsküdar.

Journalist Furkan Karabay, who made waves with his book "Gurban," which details the politics-commerce-mafia equation in Turkey, has been sent to prison for the third time for reporting on corruption within the judiciary. Karabay, who has been held in Silivri for 64 days, continues to reach out to the public through stories he writes in prison.

In a statement released by Tekin Publishing, a call was made to the entire public: "We invite our readers to this solidarity event organized for Furkan. Let us show strong support for both Furkan and press freedom by saying, 'We will look out for one another.'"
