Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir reacted to the detention of journalist İsmail Arı with a post on his social media account.
Emir argued that Arı was targeted due to his reports regarding the hiring of relatives at RTÜK and criticized former RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin.
“Former RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin, who turned RTÜK into a censorship guillotine for opposition channels and a trough for his own relatives, is back on stage!
Journalist İsmail Arı, who documented the hiring of relatives at the institution, was detained at the police station where he went to give a statement.
It was only fitting for you to detain a journalist who responded to an invitation to testify, all to protect the ‘peace’ of those who have turned public offices into a family business!”
In his statement, Emir noted that Arı was detained at the police station where he had gone to provide a statement.
