YENİ Party Spokesperson and Istanbul Deputy Zeynel Emre announced that a solidarity rally will be held in front of Halk TV, in accordance with the decision taken by the party leadership.
Stating that the Central Executive Board (MYK) met under the chairmanship of Chairman Özgür Özel, Emre announced during the ongoing meeting that the rally will take place on Wednesday at 19:30.
In his statement, Emre criticized the government's practices regarding politics and the media, stating that they will continue their solidarity with Halk TV. Emre said, "Halk TV belongs to the people; we will not leave Halk TV alone, and we will continue our solidarity with Halk TV."
Drawing attention to Halk TV's number of followers on YouTube, Emre stated that they hope this number will increase through solidarity and campaigns. He noted that party officials will continue to appear as guests on the channel.
Emphasizing that they are making the rally call "regardless of party affiliation," Emre invited all Istanbul residents to the gathering in front of Halk TV to support freedom of the press, expression, and media.
Emre also said that Chairman Özgür Özel will hold meetings with the chairmen of other political parties regarding the issue.
