The 'breast' incident during live broadcast on TRT Spor is on the agenda: Access ban imposed

The Sultans of the Net defeated the USA 3-2 in Texas in their 8th match of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League (VNL).

Footage of a Turkish female spectator reflected on the cameras during the match broadcast became a trending topic on social media.

TRT, uncomfortable with the woman's cleavage appearing on screen, had issued an official statement on the matter.

While the statement argued that this was an 'unwanted' image, the responsibility was also placed on the US broadcaster. TRT's statement was as follows:

"Last night, an unwanted image appeared on the screen during the live broadcast of the match where our A National Women's Volleyball Team played against the host USA in their 8th match of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League (VNL).

This disturbing situation has been associated with our Institution in different channels and under a false perception.

We would like the public to know that the filming and direction of the match were carried out by the host US broadcaster. TRT Spor and all broadcasting channels airing the match reflected the images transmitted instantly by the US broadcaster without any possibility of intervention. Therefore, this image, which is completely contrary to our broadcasting policy, originated from the US broadcaster, and the discomfort felt regarding this situation has been conveyed to the other party.”

ACCESS BAN

Free Web Turkey, which announced the news of the access ban on social media, reported that an access ban decision was brought against this footage by TRT. The post included the following statements:

"An access ban has been imposed on news regarding the footage of a Turkish fan reflected on cameras during the match played by the Turkey A National Women's Volleyball Team against the USA Women's National Volleyball Team, with the decision of the Tekirdağ 2nd Criminal Judgeship of Peace dated June 5."

ANOTHER ACCESS BAN FROM THE WOMAN'S LAWYER

While the images reflected on TRT screens continue to be discussed, a statement regarding a ban also came from the lawyer of the woman who appeared in the footage in question.

The statement included the following expressions:

The footage of my client Nazlıcan İrem Köroğlu, which was broadcast on screen during the USA-Turkey volleyball match on June 2, 2024, has been served by some social media accounts for malicious purposes.

Following the posts made by social media accounts, the images spread rapidly on social media, these images were published on many news sites, and in this way, my client's personal data was accessed.

Upon this, TRT Spor's statement regarding the footage as an "unwanted image" caused public outrage, and my client was subjected to countless comments containing sexual harassment and insults.

The application for blocking access made by us has been accepted, and a new request will be made for the news published after this decision.

At the same time, the legal process continues against the accounts that made posts containing insults and harassment.
