35 tons of cheese recalled during food inspection in Istanbul

During a large-scale inspection carried out in Bayrampaşa, Istanbul, 35 tons of cheese products that did not meet hygiene and regulatory requirements were recalled.

35 tons of cheese recalled during food inspection in Istanbul

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced in a statement on social media that inspections at the food complex in Bayrampaşa, Istanbul, are continuing without slowing down. Yumaklı emphasized the message, "There is no compromise on safe food."

Sharing the details of the inspections, Minister Yumaklı stated that 30 teams simultaneously inspected 58 businesses. As a result of the inspections, 35 tons of cheese products that did not comply with regulations were seized at 30 businesses. It was announced that 25 tons of these products were placed under protection as they had not completed the maturation process, while 10 tons would be destroyed.

Yumaklı stated, "With our inspections, we are protecting our consumers' right to access safe food while also supporting businesses that do their job properly. I would like to thank all my colleagues. Our inspections will continue to increase."

The Minister also shared a video taken during the inspection, drawing attention to the importance of safe food and stating that the efforts will continue.
