5-day protest ban in that province

In a statement issued by the Governor's Office, it was announced that a 5-day ban has been imposed on activities such as gatherings, marches, and press statements in open areas across the province, effective from October 9 until 23:59 on October 13.

The statement read: "It has been assessed that, using October 9 as a pretext in line with the calls of the PKK/KCK terrorist organization, pro-terror structures in our province may engage in widespread illegal actions, carry out provocative acts that damage our national unity and solidarity, and that regrettable incidents targeting the fundamental characteristics of the Republic and the indivisible integrity of the State with its territory and nation may intensify, potentially causing a serious disruption to public order and security. In this regard, in order to ensure the peace of our people and to eliminate the aforementioned threats and risks, our Governor's Office has deemed it appropriate to take the following measures within the provincial borders, in accordance with Articles 17 and 19 of the Law on Meetings and Demonstration Marches No. 2911 and Articles 11/A, B, and C of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442. Including other actions evaluated to be carried out within the scope of the calls of the PKK/KCK terrorist organization by using October 9 as a pretext; all kinds of actions intended to be held in open areas (gatherings, marches, press statements, hunger strikes, sit-ins, rallies, setting up stands, pitching tents, distributing leaflets/brochures, hanging posters/banners, etc.) have been banned for 5 days from 00:01 on October 9 until 23:59 on October 13, 2024."
