AYEDAŞ workers go on strike in protest of low wage hike offer!
Workers employed at the Istanbul Anatolian Side Electricity Distribution Company (AYEDAŞ) have launched a strike in protest of a wage hike offer that remains below the inflation rate.
Istanbul Anatolian Side Electricity Distribution Company (AYEDAŞ) employees staged a walkout this morning in protest of the low wage hike offer presented by their employer.
Gathering in front of the company's headquarters in Maltepe, the workers stated that they oppose the wage offer, which falls below the inflation rate. The protest, led by the Energy, Water and Gas Workers' Union of Turkey (TES-İŞ), affiliated with Türk-İş, emphasized that the employer's offer is unacceptable.
During the protest, signs reading "We are here for our children" and "We will win through unity and solidarity" drew attention.
The workers' protest continues under extensive security measures taken by riot police teams during the action.
