According to a report in Sözcü, it is alleged that a decision has been made to appoint Esengül Korkmaz Çiçekli, who currently serves as a Deputy Governor of Ardahan, to the position of Deputy Governor of Istanbul. It is claimed that the appointment decision will be published in the Official Gazette this week.

According to the claim, the process was evaluated within the scope of the Ministry of Interior's policy regarding the assignment of spouses who are bureaucrats to the same city. Following the reassignment of Mehmet Fatih Çiçekli to the central administration, the relocation of his wife's place of duty came to the agenda.

During his tenure as Governor of Ardahan, Mehmet Fatih Çiçekli was photographed in professional cycling attire; the images in question caused controversy in the public eye and in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

CHP Kars Deputy İnan Akgün Alp described Çiçekli's attire as "tights," argued that it was unbecoming of a governor, and called for his removal from office.
