Fahrettin Koca announces: 9 thousand health personnel to be hired

The law providing for regulations in the health sector has been published in the Official Gazette.

With the law, the number of contract-based personnel in areas where there is difficulty in recruiting staff in the health sector has been increased from 27 thousand to 36 thousand. Thus, the way has been paved for the recruitment of 9 thousand new contract-based health personnel.

Changes have also been made to the job description of midwives. Accordingly, midwives will be able to take an active role in births. They will be able to perform minor medical interventions.

Newly graduated dentists will be able to take an active role in independent practices. The law will also facilitate the drug licensing process to support the domestic pharmaceutical industry. The two-month waiting period will be removed, and license fees will be determined according to new criteria.

Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca made the following post on his social media account after the regulation was published in the Official Gazette:

"The Law on Amendments to Certain Laws Related to Health and Decree Law No. 663 has been published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force. May it be beneficial to our nation and the health community."
