The regulation will be enacted before the budget proposal reaches the General Assembly of the Parliament. The draft law, which envisages amendments to the Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law, has been submitted to the Speaker of the Parliament.

WHO WILL BE ABLE TO BENEFIT FROM THE AMNESTY?

Citizens who have received information about the regulation prepared by the government are wondering who will be able to benefit from the amnesty. Following the preparations carried out jointly by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the regulation is expected to be submitted to the TBMM in the coming days.

With this regulation, the 10-year statute of limitations will expire on January 1, 2025, and GSS premium debts will not be collected. This will allow 400 thousand citizens to be relieved of a financial burden.

Citizens who could not benefit from the previous restructurings regarding GSS debts will be able to benefit from this new regulation.

THERE ARE OVER 9 MILLION GSS MEMBERS

There are over approximately 9 million GSS members in our country. Those covered by General Health Insurance are required to pay a premium equivalent to 3 percent of the gross minimum wage. For 2024, this amount was set at 600 TL, but no figure has been announced yet for 2025.

In the omnibus bill prepared by the government, the GSS premium debts of 400 thousand people will be erased. People whose 10-year statute of limitations will expire at the beginning of the year will be able to benefit from this regulation.
