AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that birth grant amounts will be increased. Erdoğan stated, "We are introducing child benefits of 5,000 Turkish Lira per month for the third and subsequent children." So, what are the new conditions for maternity benefits? Who can apply?
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important announcements at the Family Year Promotion Program held at the Beştepe People's Congress and Culture Center. Giving good news regarding birth grants, Erdoğan stated the following:
"We are increasing the one-time birth grant we provide for the first newborn child to 5,000 Turkish Lira. We are implementing child benefits of 1,500 Turkish Lira per month for the second child, and 5,000 Turkish Lira per month for the third and subsequent children. We will deposit these benefits regularly into our mothers' accounts for the second and subsequent children without any conditions. I hope this good news will be beneficial and auspicious for our families."

MINISTRY ANNOUNCED
Following Erdoğan's statement, an announcement was also made by the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Turkey. In its statement, the Ministry included the following:
"We continue to support our families with child benefits! We are introducing child benefits of 1,500 TL per month for the second child and 5,000 TL per month for the third and subsequent children."

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE BIRTH GRANT?
Applications for the birth grant can be made after a live birth occurs and the child is registered in the Identity Sharing System (KPS) by the civil registry office. For the application, the "Birth Grant Application Petition" must be filled out completely, signed, and submitted in person, via registered mail, or by courier.

Applications can be made through Provincial Directorates of Family and Social Services or Social Service Centers. Employees in public institutions and organizations, including those employed through service procurement, submit their applications to their own institutions. Those living abroad can carry out their applications through Embassies or Consulates. Those living abroad who are currently in Turkey can apply to any Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services or Social Service Center.
