Increase in 'check payments' at banks: 9,270 TL payment per transaction
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey has implemented a major increase regarding bank check payments.
According to the communiqué published in the Official Gazette by the Central Bank, the amount that banks are required to pay per check leaf has been redetermined.

The penalty that banks are required to pay per check leaf has been increased from 6,000 TL to 9,270 TL. Details regarding the penalties to be imposed were included in the Official Gazette.
With the announcement of the Communiqué on Amending the Communiqué on the Printing Format of Checkbooks and the Amount Banks are Obligated to Pay to the Bearer, the new payment amounts have also entered into force.
With the change made in the communiqué, the amount that banks are required to pay for each check leaf used has also changed. The 6,000 lira that banks are obligated to pay for each check page will now be paid as 9,270 TL.
