Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that funds will be transferred as part of emergency disaster relief for citizens in provinces affected by extreme rainfall, particularly in Istanbul.
Responding to questions about the agenda during a live broadcast on Habertürk TV, Göktaş stated that field operations have been initiated for households damaged by the rainfall. Reporting that screening activities are ongoing in all affected households in Istanbul, Göktaş said that teams are identifying needs on-site.
Minister Göktaş stated that the ministry will provide support through the social assistance fund, saying, "As the Ministry of Family and Social Services, we will have a fund transfer under the scope of emergency disaster relief through the social assistance fund. We have already transferred our advance payment as soon as possible."
Emphasizing that psychosocial support teams are also in the field, Göktaş noted that the funds to be transferred will be specifically for citizens in need who were affected by the disaster in the initial stage. Göktaş said that the situation on the ground is being closely monitored.
