Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announces: When will the Halkalı-Istanbul Airport Metro open?
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has announced the opening date for the Halkalı-Istanbul Airport Metro Line.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu held a press conference to make statements regarding the Halkalı-Istanbul Airport Metro Line.
Minister Uraloğlu stated the following in his remarks:
"The Halkalı-Istanbul Airport Metro Line is 31.5 kilometers long. With a design speed of 120 km/h, 600 thousand passengers will be able to travel on this line daily. With the line becoming operational, the travel time between Kağıthane and Istanbul Airport will be 24 minutes, and between Göktürk and Istanbul Airport will be 12 minutes. We have completed 55,600 meters of line tunnels using 6 TBMs with a diameter of 6.6 meters in the main line tunnels of our project. We have achieved 99 percent progress in the lining concrete of the tunnels. We are continuing construction work on the switch structures. We have completed 98 percent of the reinforced concrete manufacturing. We have recorded 60 percent progress in the finishing construction works of the stations and service stations. We are working non-stop to open it for service before March 2024."
