Minister Yerlikaya: 1 police officer martyred
A police officer was martyred in an accident that occurred during shooting training in Mersin. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya released a message of condolence regarding the incident.
Police Officer Mustafa Karapınar, who served at the Mersin Special Operations Branch Directorate, lost his life as a result of an unfortunate accident that occurred during shooting training.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated in a post on social media that Karapınar was injured when a heavy machine gun accidentally discharged while he was attempting to clear a malfunction, and that he could not be saved despite medical interventions at the hospital.
Minister Yerlikaya conveyed his condolences, stating, "May our nation be strong. I wish for God's mercy upon our martyr, and I extend my condolences to his family, our Police Department, and our nation. May the martyr's place be high in heaven."
