The Ministry of Interior has announced that Deputy Mayor Aydın Demirdirek of the Yahşihan district in Kırıkkale has been temporarily suspended from his duties.
In a statement released by the Ministry, it was noted that Demirdirek was arrested by the Kırıkkale 2nd Criminal Court of Peace on October 9, 2026, on charges of "bribery, rigging of tenders, and aiding a criminal organization."
The statement further noted that Demirdirek was suspended as a temporary measure in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipal Law No. 5393.
