Personnel recruitment procedures changed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

A new regulation regarding the recruitment methods for certain contract personnel to be employed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force.

With the decision numbered 11833, published under the signature of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, amendments were made to the "Principles Regarding the Employment of Contract Personnel." The regulation covers the 22nd paragraph of the additional 2nd article of the principles.

Accordingly, personnel with the titles of translator-interpreter and foreign affairs legal expert to be employed as contract staff at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs may be recruited based on the results of written and oral examinations to be conducted within the framework of procedures and principles to be determined by the Ministry, without being subject to general provisions.

For the recruitment of contract protection and security officers, candidates will be ranked according to their KPSS (B) group scores. Up to three times the number of positions to be filled, candidates may be invited to a written and/or oral/practical examination according to the procedures and principles to be determined by the Ministry.

Protection and security officers may also be employed as contract personnel based on the results of these examinations. The regulation was prepared within the scope of paragraph (B) of Article 4 of the Civil Servants Law No. 657.

While the decision entered into force as of the date of its publication, the execution of the regulation will be ensured by the President.
