Urban transformation support program from Üsküdar Municipality: What are the application requirements?

Üsküdar Municipality has announced that it will provide financial support to eligible property owners who meet certain conditions to support urban transformation processes as part of the “Üsküdar Renews” project. In this context, citizens who meet the specified requirements will be able to benefit from financial support during the process of renewing earthquake-vulnerable structures.

SUPPORT CONDITIONS AND APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

According to the conditions announced by the municipality, property owners who wish to benefit from the financial support must meet certain criteria:

Risky structure assessment

The building for which the application is made must be registered as a risky structure within the framework of Law No. 6306.

Agreement

The property owner must have reached an agreement on renewal as part of the “Üsküdar Renews” project.

Income status

The applicant's household income must be below 3 times the net minimum wage.

Real estate ownership

The applicant, their spouse, and their dependents must not own any other real estate within the borders of Istanbul. For those who own independent units outside of Istanbul, they must hold less than a 50 percent share. (Fields or properties with land-use classification are not considered in this scope.)

SUPPORT RATES AND SCOPE

The following criteria will be taken into account for the support to be provided:

For those whose household income is below 2 times the net minimum wage, 60 percent of the reconstruction cost will be covered, and 65 percent will be covered for retirees.

For those whose household income is below 3 times the net minimum wage, this rate will be 40 percent, and 45 percent for retirees.

The support will be valid for a maximum of 80 square meters of the independent unit to be renewed.

APPLICATION AND PROJECT DETAILS

The project, which received approval from the Üsküdar Municipal Council in October, announced that applications will be accepted via the uskudaryenileniyor.com website. The program aims to accelerate the creation of earthquake-resistant structures by reducing financial barriers in the urban transformation process.
