A major step for clean public transport! China's 1,000 km range hydrogen-powered train completes test run

The test run, described as a significant step toward cleaner public transport, was carried out as part of China's first domestic hydrogen-powered train project. The test run took place in the city of Changchun, and it was stated that the train has a range of 1,000 kilometers.

According to a report by Webtekno, while cars are the first thing that comes to mind when talking about electric or hydrogen-powered vehicles, efforts are also underway to use alternative energy sources for different vehicles such as trucks, buses, and trains. One of these efforts is the hydrogen-powered train developed by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles. The first test run of this train, which has a range of 1,000 kilometers, has been successfully completed.

TESTED UNDER VARIOUS CONDITIONS

Unlike trains that use fossil fuels or require overhead power lines, this train uses hydrogen energy. This system offers a powerful and long-lasting power unit. According to the results obtained in the tests, the vehicle consumes 5kWh of energy per kilometer and meets global energy efficiency standards.

Before the test run, the vehicle was tested under various conditions ranging from -25 degrees to 35 degrees Celsius. It is also stated that during this process, the vehicle was tested for vibration resistance, electromagnetic compatibility, and fire safety. It was noted that the vehicle's range can exceed 1,000 kilometers, which requires fewer stops for refueling.
