Access issues on Instagram and Facebook: Thousands of complaints from users

Access issues occurred on Meta-owned Instagram and Facebook in some countries and regions on Sunday morning. Users reported connection and access disruptions on both mobile applications and the website.
According to data from the outage tracking platform Downdetector, 4,808 issue reports were received from Facebook users in the US. 63 percent of the reports indicated problems accessing the website.
At the same time, Instagram users in the US also filed 2,829 complaints regarding the application. Reuters' checks determined that access to Facebook and Instagram in Singapore was intermittent.
Meta has not yet made a public statement regarding the cause or scope of the outages. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent via email.
