Turkey's first astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, conducted the "OXYGEN SATURATION" experiment today, which is among the 13 experiments he is carrying out as part of the Turkish Space Science Mission.
Continuing his work on the International Space Station (ISS) with his 6th experiment, Gezeravcı performed the "OXYGEN SATURATION" experiment, managed by Oğuzhan Aydemir from Nişantaşı University. This experiment aims to identify the differences and discomforts caused by low gravity by calculating the oxygen level of the air provided with the support of artificial intelligence.
With the 5 experiments he has conducted on the ISS to date, Gezeravcı has performed the "EXTREMOPHYTE" experiment, which investigates the physiological and molecular responses of the endemic halophyte plant Schrenkiella Parvula, which grows in Lake Tuz, to the space environment; "CRISPR-GEM," the first step toward developing new plants; "UzMAn," which researches the use of microalgae species in space life support systems; "ALGALSPACE," which investigates the use of algae in space; and "VOKALKORD," which examines vital reactions to living in space.
