Another new feature is coming to WhatsApp: Messages can be protected with two-step verification

WhatsApp rolled out the chat lock feature to all devices on both Android and iOS last week. Now, it is developing a secret code feature to bring additional security and privacy to messaging for the web version.

It has been announced that the secret code feature is currently in the testing phase and will be made available in a future WhatsApp Web update.

The secret code feature for locked chats, which is planned to arrive with a new update for WhatsApp Web, is currently in the development stage. As can be understood from the screenshot, a secret code will be required to open the list of locked chats that previously arrived on mobile devices.

To protect user privacy and ensure that sensitive conversations are always secure, they will be protected via a PIN. The feature can also be used to maintain privacy for individuals who share desktop devices.
