Apple is completely ending Touch ID! Production has been halted

Apple is moving away from certain technologies. One of these is the Touch ID authentication technology, which has not been used on iPhones since the iPhone X in 2017. For those who have been waiting for developments regarding this for years, there is bad news: its production has now been halted.

Apple replaced Touch ID with the Face ID system, and this is now the method of authentication used on iPhones.

THE TOUCH ID ERA HAS ENDED

Many people had expectations that the iPhone 16 would feature an 'under-display fingerprint reader' with Touch ID, but this latest news shows that this will not happen. Apple's decision to stop the production of chips for Touch ID shows that it is moving away from this technology entirely.

On the other hand, Touch ID is still used in models such as the iPad Mini 6 and iPad Air. According to a report on Weibo, while Touch ID will not be coming to the iPhone side, there may be different plans for the iPad side.

More affordable iPhone SE models still have Touch ID, but there is a possibility that it will not be included in the next model.

According to reports, Apple's main plan is to integrate Face ID with under-display technology. However, there is no definitive evidence for this.
