Apple prices may rise! The reason: Trump's tariff policies...
According to Bank of America, the customs tariffs planned by US President Donald Trump could force Apple to increase prices on iPhones and other products.
Bank of America (BofA) analyst Wamsi Mohan stated that following Trump's memorandum on implementing reciprocal tariffs against US trading partners, Apple is re-evaluating potential tariff scenarios.
"AT LEAST A 10 PERCENT TARIFF"
According to the report on Cnbc-e, Mohan said, "It is estimated that at least a 10 percent tariff will be applied to all of Apple's products. These tariffs targeting China could also trigger reciprocal taxes with other countries like India, forcing Apple to shift its production strategy for the US market away from China to other regions."
Apple had begun shifting iPhone production to India as part of its efforts to diversify its supply chain. However, it is noted that the new tariffs could directly impact the company's strategies in the US market.
