Apple wants to increase investment in Vietnam

According to a statement from Apple and reports in the Vietnam press, Apple CEO Tim Cook met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during his first visit to Vietnam.

In his meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Cook stated that there is no other country like Vietnam and expressed his desire to increase investments in the country, where Apple products are manufactured.

Details regarding the investment plan were not disclosed.

It is noted that Apple and its contract manufacturers have recently been taking steps to shift production to neighboring countries such as Vietnam and India, due to the rising perception of geopolitical risk regarding China and the disruption of factory production and supply chains caused by quarantine measures implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic.
