Astronomers discover new moons in the solar system
Previously unknown moons in the solar system have been discovered by astronomers using telescopes in Hawaii and Chile.
Accordingly, astronomers have revealed the existence of 2 moons orbiting Neptune, as well as one additional small moon orbiting Uranus.
The International Astronomical Union announced that with these new discoveries, the number of moons for Neptune has risen to 16, and for Uranus to 28.
Astronomer Scott Sheppard from the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington stated that the small moon completes one orbit around Neptune, the ice giant farthest from the Sun, in approximately 27 years.

Sheppard also expressed that there could be many more small, as-yet-undiscovered moons.
It is noted that the new moon in Uranus's orbit, which is estimated to have a diameter of 8 kilometers, is likely the smallest among the planet's moons.
