BluTV sold to Warner Bros-Discovery
Turkey's streaming platform with the highest number of subscribers, BluTV, has been sold to Warner Bros-Discovery. Having previously acquired a stake in the platform, Warner Bros-Discovery is now the sole owner of BluTV.
It has been announced that Warner Bros-Discovery has acquired the entirety of BluTV.
A significant change has taken place with Warner Bros-Discovery's full acquisition of BluTV, one of Turkey's leading series and film platforms. By taking full control of the platform it previously partially owned, the company has brought BluTV's formerly domestic identity under the dominance of a foreign corporation.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE CONTENT
The acquisition of BluTV is also expected to be reflected in the platform's content. Warner Bros-Discovery may integrate its own content into BluTV. In this case, BluTV subscribers will be able to access series and films from HBO, DC Comics, and other brands more easily.
THE FUTURE OF BLUTV
The acquisition of BluTV has also made the platform's future a subject of curiosity. Warner Bros-Discovery may continue to develop BluTV or pursue a different strategy. The path the platform will take in the future will become clear in the coming period.
