DEPUTY MINISTER ISSUES STATEMENT

Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan stated that the National Cyber Incident Response Center has requested a technical report from Google regarding the cause of the outage, and made the following remarks:

“There is an outage affecting Turkey and the European region on Google, Android, and connected services. We are closely monitoring the process. Such outages once again reveal the importance of domestic and national software. We will further increase our 5G localization rate, which is currently at 60%.”
