According to a statement from Honda Aircraft Co., the 11-seat light jet will provide 20 percent better fuel efficiency compared to its competitors.

IT WILL BE THE FIRST SINGLE-PILOT LIGHT JET

The mini jet, which features an engine on each of its two wings, will be the first single-pilot light jet capable of flying across the U.S. without refueling. Honda Aircraft President and CEO Yamasaki Hideto stated that the HondaJet Echelon will "create a new category that exceeds the travel experience of traditional light jets."

The price tag for the new aircraft is still uncertain, and assembly will begin at the Japanese manufacturer's factory in North Carolina, USA, no earlier than 2024.

The Japanese manufacturer announced that it plans to obtain flight certifications for the aircraft, which will be named "HondaJet Echelon," from U.S. aviation authorities in 2028.
