ChatGPT banned from providing advice in certain critical areas
Under new rules established for ChatGPT, users will no longer be able to receive medical, legal, or financial advice. The application will henceforth only provide guidance for educational purposes.
According to updated regulations released by OpenAI, ChatGPT will no longer be able to provide direct advice to users on sensitive topics such as health, law, and finance. With this change, which has been in effect since October 29, the artificial intelligence will only be able to provide information or direct users to relevant experts for requests that require professional guidance.
WHAT HAS CHANGED IN THE NEW REGULATIONS?
According to the decision, ChatGPT will refrain from actions such as providing any medication names, dosage recommendations, legal petitions, or investment advice. Experts state that this regulation aims to reduce the risk of misinformation and protect users' confidential personal information. Furthermore, it is emphasized that ChatGPT will no longer replace doctors, lawyers, or financial advisors; instead, it will assist users with general information.
ETHICAL AND SECURITY DIMENSIONS OF THE BANS
The changes in question also focus on data security and ethical values. It was stated that ChatGPT must be prevented from being used as a tool for cheating in education, such as for exams, homework, or the creation of copyrighted works of art. Additionally, it was announced that the model cannot offer psychological support or therapy. ChatGPT's inability to establish individual empathy and perform personal risk assessments was cited as the primary reason for prohibiting such uses.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE WILL NO LONGER REPLACE EXPERTS
With the update, ChatGPT's role as an "assistant" is highlighted; the application has been removed from being a "consultant" to be consulted for health, legal, and financial decisions. According to expert opinions, this step is described as a turning point that officially acknowledges that artificial intelligence cannot replace human expertise.
