Claims that Apple will change iOS design

Having only made minor changes to the iOS design so far, Apple may, according to claims, have a significantly updated look in the upcoming iOS 18.

According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple is “indeed working on updating the design of iOS.” While this information does not provide many details, it suggests that there will be noticeable differences.

According to the news on Chip.com.tr, Gurman, who is generally reliable in predicting Apple's moves, responded to rumors that iOS 18 would be partially inspired by the design of VisionOS on the Apple Vision Pro, stating that this “general overhaul” would not happen, but that it seems Apple could start taking steps in this direction in 2024.

COULD BE INTRODUCED AT THE CONFERENCE IN JUNE

Since new versions of iOS are usually introduced at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, we won't have to wait too long to see the features of the system Apple is working on and how different it is from iOS 17 in terms of design.

Although app icons and menus have been changed and organized in the decade since iOS 7, which was introduced in 2013 and featured the biggest design change, there has not been a true general redesign.

Gurman had previously stated that iOS 18 would be an “ambitious and compelling” update, so it seems there may be many features to look forward to. As with everything in technology recently, it can be predicted that generative artificial intelligence will have an important role, with Siri and some parts of iOS being updated with major new AI-powered capabilities.
