CNET began publishing AI-generated content under the byline "Money Staff" in 2022. However, these articles contained numerous errors, typos, and unverified information. This situation led to questions regarding CNET's credibility and resulted in a low score during Wikipedia's evaluation process. Investigations determined that the content prepared using AI was inaccurate and written for SEO purposes, which negatively impacted CNET's reliability rating.

The use of artificial intelligence was also detected in other publications under Red Ventures. A similar situation was observed on platforms such as Bankrate and CreditCards.com. These developments have increased concerns regarding the reliability of AI-generated content and led to the downgrade of the credibility score assigned to CNET by Wikipedia.
