Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, which caused Windows computers to crash, stated in a social media post that they "continue to work to get all systems back up and running."

Microsoft had stated that 8.5 million computers worldwide were affected by the incident.

Many businesses, banks, hospitals, and airlines were affected by the outage. The systems of some organizations have not yet returned to smooth operation.

CrowdStrike's statement included the following: "We are aware of the significant impact this has had on everyone. Our customers, partners, and IT teams are working tirelessly. We are deeply grateful to everyone. We apologize for the inconvenience caused."
