In November, many discoveries and developments made headlines, ranging from cheetahs changing their hunting habits due to rising temperatures, the discovery of the oldest black hole ever found—formed 470 million years after the "Big Bang"—to the first photos from the Euclid Telescope, the new artificial intelligence model called "Grok," and the capture of gamma rays from a star exploding 2 billion light-years away.
In Botswana, an African country, the monitoring of 53 carnivores, including cheetahs, lions, leopards, and African wild dogs, over 8 years revealed that cheetahs have changed their hunting habits due to rising temperatures.
Researchers reported that as a result of rising temperatures, cheetahs have changed their hunting time intervals, which has increased the likelihood of them encountering predators such as lions.
THE OLDEST BLACK HOLE DISCOVERED SINCE THE BIG BANG
Scientists have discovered the oldest black hole ever found, which formed 470 million years after the "Big Bang."
According to a study by a research team of astronomers who utilized data from the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) James Webb Space Telescope and the Chandra X-ray Observatory, the discovered black hole is 13.2 billion light-years away from Earth.
While the discovery is described as the "best evidence yet" that some black holes form from large gas clouds, it is believed that this finding could also advance theories on how some of the first supermassive black holes in the universe were formed.
The European Space Agency (ESA) shared the first photos taken by the Euclid Space Telescope of galaxies thousands of light-years away.
ESA stated regarding Euclid, "No other telescope has ever been able to capture such a large part of the deep universe with such razor-sharp clarity." The Euclid Telescope aims to create the largest three-dimensional map of space to date and to discover evidence that will shed light on the concepts of "dark matter" and "dark energy," which make up approximately 95 percent of the universe.

xAI, the artificial intelligence company owned by Elon Musk—who also owns Tesla, SpaceX, and the social media platform X—announced its new artificial intelligence model called "Grok."
Grok, which is stated to be designed to provide "witty and rebellious" answers to questions asked, was introduced with the joke, "If you hate humor, please do not use it!"
It was noted that Grok will also answer questions that other artificial intelligence systems "refuse to answer."
Gamma rays from a star exploding 2 billion light-years away were captured

ESA's Integral Space Telescope detected gamma rays coming from a star that exploded approximately 2 billion light-years away from Earth.
It was stated that the explosion, which affected the ionosphere layer of the Earth's atmosphere and is named "GRB 221009A," was the "brightest, most powerful, and longest-lasting" gamma-ray burst ever detected.
It was noted that "GRB 221009A" was 10 times more powerful than any previously measured, and that gamma-ray bursts of this magnitude only reach Earth once every 10,000 years.
