Disney invests 1.5 billion dollars in Fortnite maker Epic Games!

Walt Disney, as one of the leading companies in the entertainment industry, has announced that it will purchase 1.5 billion dollars worth of equity in video game developer Epic Games.

In a statement from Disney, it was noted that the two companies will collaborate on a new games and entertainment universe that will further expand the reach of Disney stories and experiences.

The statement reported that Disney will make a 1.5 billion dollar investment to purchase equity in Epic Games.

It was emphasized that a vast and open games and entertainment universe linked to Epic Games' popular video game Fortnite will be created, and it was stated that this universe will bring Disney stories and experiences to life alongside Fortnite and its more than 100 million active players and creators.

Disney CEO Robert Iger, in his assessment of the investment, stated that this move is the largest step Disney has ever taken into the world of gaming, noting that it presents a significant opportunity for the company's growth potential.

Epic Games Founder and CEO Tim Sweeney also stated that they are collaborating on an entirely new project to build a persistent, open, and collaborative ecosystem that will bring the Disney and Fortnite communities together.
