WhatsApp is preparing an important innovation for its desktop version. Soon, web users will be able to initiate group calls directly through their internet browser without needing to download an extra application to their phones. In this innovation, which is currently in the testing phase, group calls that 8 or 16 people can join simultaneously are initially planned. In the long term, it is aimed to increase this to up to 32 people; this matches the maximum capacity currently supported in WhatsApp's mobile applications.

Another detail aimed at improving the user experience is the feature of creating a link for invitations to calls. Participants will be able to join the group call directly by clicking on the shared invitation link. Thus, both voice and video calls will be managed more practically on computers or tablets.

Until now, there was no group calling option in the web version of WhatsApp. Thanks to the new feature, it will be possible to conduct group calls from the desktop for many different purposes, whether for family gatherings or business meetings.
