First details on Samsung Galaxy S24 FE leaked

It has been announced that display component manufacturer Anapass will produce the display driver (DDI) for the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE model.

These display drivers are known to play a significant role in how smartphones convert data into images and in overall visual quality. Samsung's collaboration with Anapass for its new Galaxy S24 FE model could also impact the device's design. Anapass's expertise in timing controllers, combined with the developed DDI, may allow for the thinning of the phone's bezels.

According to a report by Webtekno, it is stated that chip-on-film packaging will be used for the flexible OLED screens to be used in the Galaxy S24 FE model, and that this process is more difficult than chip-on-glass integration. However, placing the DDI on film provides more freedom in panel design, contributing to thinner bezels. It is noted that Stemco will produce the chip-on-film packages.

While Samsung's new model is expected to be released in the summer months of this year, it is projected that the South Korean tech giant aims to sell millions of units of this model, which is expected to increase Anapass's annual revenue to the 100 billion won (approximately 2.366 billion TL) level.

Information was also shared that Samsung Display previously sourced DDI supplies from Anapass for variants developed for Chinese customers, and that Samsung's two largest suppliers in this field are Samsung System LSI and Magnachip.
