Freedom of thought under threat on the X platform!

The X platform, which was acquired by Elon Musk last year, has come to the agenda with cases of account closures. The Indian government requested the closure of certain accounts associated with illegal organizations. Although the X management was initially reluctant, they concluded that refusing this request could harm the company's operations in the country.

For this reason, they were forced to approve all account closure requests. Although this decision appears to abandon the principle of free thought, the X platform stated in an official announcement that they had to make a decision they did not want to in line with the Indian government's request.

The platform expressed that they would appeal this decision and that they would always defend freedom of thought. Furthermore, it was noted that a special notification message was sent to the users whose accounts were closed. It is known that India wanted to close these accounts in relation to issues such as farmers' protests and demanded the deletion of posts made on this subject.

Although such situations pose a significant threat to freedom of thought, technology companies do not want to lose countries that hold great economic revenue potential. For this reason, they may find themselves forced to comply with such requests.
