A technical issue in Microsoft's cloud infrastructure has caused widespread disruptions to email services worldwide. The company stated that the affected systems are being gradually restored and that the majority of users are now able to access services again.

Starting Monday evening, Microsoft 365 corporate clients and individual users experienced issues with logging in and sending or receiving emails. Numerous users reported that their mailboxes were failing to synchronize and that applications were freezing.

ISSUE IN EXCHANGE ONLINE INFRASTRUCTURE

Microsoft reported that the source of the outage was the Exchange Online cloud infrastructure. According to the statement, a technical problem in a central authentication and connection component blocked access to mail servers.

It was stated that company technicians implemented countermeasures throughout the night and applied specific repairs to the affected servers. Microsoft reported that telemetry data indicates a significant recovery in the systems and that data traffic is being gradually redirected to normal channels.

However, the company cautioned that services might not return to normal for all users simultaneously. Some users may need to wait a while longer for the global backlog of emails to clear and for synchronization to become stable again.

The disruption, which affected millions of users on a global scale, stood out as a critical outage, particularly for businesses dependent on Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online infrastructure for corporate communication.
