Göbeklitepe-focused digital experience museum to open in London in July

DEM Müzecilik, the founder of the Hagia Sophia and Ephesus experience museums, is bringing its new digital history project based on Göbeklitepe to London, the capital of England. The exhibition, prepared with visual and auditory technologies, will open to visitors in July 2026.

Starting from Göbeklitepe, the project also encompasses other civilizations that left their mark on the historical process. The exhibition will convey the architecture, astronomy, beliefs, and writing systems of the Babylonian, Ancient Egyptian, Mayan, and Rapa Nui civilizations through digital experience design.

THE EXHIBITION WILL BE HELD AT IMMERSE LDN

The project's host in London will be Immerse LDN, one of the city's well-known digital experience centers. Having hosted more than 1.5 million visitors with various immersive experiences to date, the center will host a comprehensive history exhibition for the first time with this project.

A TEAM OF 150 WORKED ON IT, WILL BE PRESENTED IN 25 LANGUAGES

According to the information provided, an interdisciplinary team of approximately 150 people, including archaeologists, historians, architects, curators, and technology experts, took part in the preparation phase of the project. The narratives in the exhibition, the content of which was prepared under the consultancy of period historians, will be presented in 25 different languages for visitors from different geographies.

"A Transmission Suitable for the Learning Methods of the New Generation" DEM Müzecilik Chairman of the Board Mehmet Uğur Esin stated in his assessment of the project that they have played a role in the realization of 18 museums and cultural complexes in Turkey and around the world to date. Esin said, "We are interpreting Göbeklitepe's universal historical narrative by integrating it with the traces of other lost civilizations using today's narrative language. We are not just exhibiting history; we are transforming it into a permanent experience with the help of technology, in a way that is suitable for the learning methods of the new generation."
