Apple's plan to add cameras to AirPods first came to the agenda during the summer months. However, there has been silence on this matter for a long time. With the latest statements from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, this silence has been broken.
According to the information shared by Mark Gurman, Apple has not given up on the idea of AirPods with cameras and is continuing its research to bring this innovative device to market.
WHAT WILL AIRPODS WITH CAMERAS OFFER?
Although Gurman and other experts do not know the exact reasons behind Apple's plan to add cameras to its wireless headphones, they are making some predictions about the potential benefits of this move.
It is stated that the cameras are planned to be used as infrared sensors. It is thought that these sensors could further improve the spatial audio experience. Additionally, thanks to infrared cameras, users will be able to perform operations such as music control and call management more easily with hand gestures.
Currently, AirPods users can give some commands with head movements. With this new technology, the inclusion of hand gestures could minimize the need to take the phone out of one's pocket. AirPods with these features are expected to be released in 2026 or 2027.
