Instagram begins testing new feature! Explicit photos will be blurred

Instagram has begun the testing process for a new feature concerning nude images sent via direct messages. This feature will function bidirectionally, alerting both the sender and the recipient.

According to information reported by Webtekno, the photo and short-video sharing platform Instagram has begun trialing a new feature aimed at protecting children. This new feature will warn users who send and receive explicit content.

This feature, which will be automatically enabled for users under the age of 18, will be located in Instagram's messaging section. For example, if a user attempts to send a nude photo to someone under 18, the feature will warn the sender, asking if they are sure they want to proceed with this action.

The user can choose to cancel the sending process after the warning. This new measure taken by Instagram will function in both directions. Suppose a user sends an image containing nudity; the recipient will encounter a blurred image and will be warned that the incoming message contains nudity. Whether or not to open the photo will be left to the user's discretion.
