iPhone 18 prices leaked: Pro Max to see price hike, Ultra to be expensive

Ahead of the event Apple is expected to hold on September 9, price claims regarding the iPhone 18 family have surfaced. The leaks include not only the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max but also the iPhone Ultra, which is expected to be the company's first foldable phone.

If the new information is confirmed, the Pro series could see an increase compared to the previous generation. However, it is noted that the most striking price difference could emerge with the iPhone Ultra, which is expected to be positioned in a separate segment due to its foldable structure.

PRICE HIKE CLAIMS

In a list alleged to have originated from Vodafone Egypt, it was claimed that a price of 155,750 Egyptian pounds was seen for the iPhone Ultra. It is stated that this amount is approximately 65 percent higher than the price of the iPhone 17 Pro Max in the same market.

Although this rate cannot be applied directly to other countries, calculations made by excluding taxes and local pricing indicate that the starting price of the iPhone Ultra for the US market could approach the 2,000 dollar level. In a separate claim from Australia, price levels of 3,700 Australian dollars for the 256 GB model, 4,200 Australian dollars for the 512 GB model, and 4,700 Australian dollars for the 1 TB version were mentioned.

There is a similar expectation of a price hike for the Pro models. The leak suggested that the iPhone 18 Pro is listed at 98,000 Egyptian pounds and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at 105,000 Egyptian pounds. It is stated that these figures represent an increase of approximately 10-11 percent when compared to the current iPhone 17 Pro family.

If this increase is reflected in US prices, it is calculated that the iPhone 18 Pro could start at approximately 1,200 dollars and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at approximately 1,300 dollars. Estimates from the research firm TrendForce also point to a higher picture. According to the company, the iPhone 18 Pro could go on sale in the 1,249-1,299 dollar range, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max in the 1,349-1,399 dollar range.

Production costs are also cited as a factor in the price hike expectations. It is noted that the rise in memory costs, in particular, is increasing the pressure on smartphone manufacturers. TrendForce predicts that the component cost of a 256 GB iPhone 18 Pro could be approximately 38 percent higher than the equivalent model from last year.

However, all figures are not yet official. In a statement to the press, Vodafone Egypt stated that no such price leak occurred from their systems. Storage options and official prices are expected to become clear once Apple announces the models at the event.
