It will be possible to play games on YouTube
It has been announced that games will now be available on YouTube, the video platform owned by tech giant Google. Games will be playable on both the browser and mobile versions of YouTube.
YouTube will now feature mini-games on its platform in addition to videos. YouTube's latest feature aims to host small mobile games called "Playables".
Currently available to a limited number of beta test users, "Playables" appears as a small tab next to your content feed on the homepage. These mini-games can be played on both desktop and mobile platforms.
One example is a game called "Stack Bounce", where users guide a ball through rings. This game was previously featured on Google's gaming service called GameSnacks.
YouTube's gaming feature comes at a time when rival platforms like Netflix and TikTok are also showing interest in games. However, YouTube's move in this area appears to be in its early stages.
