Launch date for Turkish astronaut Gezeravcı's space mission postponed

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that the Ax3 mission, which will include Turkey's first astronaut Alper Gezeravcı, has been postponed to January 17, 2024, due to adverse weather conditions and changes in SpaceX's scheduling, adding, "We will have to be a little more patient for this exciting journey."

Minister Kacır made the statement on his social media account by quoting a post from the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

Stating that the Ax3 mission, which will include Turkey's first space traveler Gezeravcı, has been postponed to January 17, 2024, due to adverse weather conditions and changes in SpaceX's scheduling, Kacır remarked, "We will have to be a little more patient for this exciting journey." NASA's post noted the following: "NASA, Axiom, and SpaceX teams are not targeting a launch of the Axiom 3 Mission from Kennedy Space Center before Wednesday, January 17, due to recent adverse weather conditions and changes in SpaceX's launch schedule."
