Light emitted at the moment of death scientifically proven

A joint study by the University of Calgary and the National Research Council of Canada has revealed that living organisms emit weak light particles called "biophotons" at the moment of death. The team, led by Dr. Vahid Salari, observed this phenomenon through experiments conducted on mice and plants.

The research shows that this light emission, known as "ultra-weak photon emission" (UPE), stops abruptly when life ends. This situation could allow for the development of new methods for monitoring biological vitality through light.

Researchers state that the source of this light is not body heat, but oxidative stress at the cellular level.

It was determined that light emission intensifies as reactive oxygen species increase within the cell.

In the experiments, biophoton emission was recorded for four mice while they were alive and after death. It was observed that the emission stopped almost completely after death. Similarly, it was observed that light emission increased in plants under stress.

These findings indicate that biophoton emission could be used in the development of non-invasive diagnostic techniques. Thus, conditions such as stress, disease, or tissue damage could be detected at an early stage.

The results of the study were published in The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters and are stated to have the potential to revolutionize the fields of medicine and biophysics.
