MacBook Pros with OLED screens will not be released until 2027

New patents filed by Apple over the years have pointed to the company developing a MacBook Pro with an OLED screen. We have had neither an official statement nor a date. As expectations regarding the subject have grown, new statements are emerging. Analyst and Display Supply Chain Consultants CEO Ross Young made comments on the matter during a seminar he recently attended. Young, who has made predictions about Apple products and software many times before, has now shared his comments on OLED-screen MacBook Pros.

IT IS UNCLEAR WHETHER WE WILL SEE THEM EVEN AFTER 2027

According to Young, we will not see OLED-screen MacBooks before 2027.

Apple has preferred IPS LCD screen panels for its MacBook devices for many years, which has been a point of significant criticism. A while ago, it replaced this with mini-LEDs, but expectations for OLED still persist.

OLED technology has notable advantages when compared to current MacBook Pro models with LCD screens. These include higher brightness, blacks that are much more distinct, a higher contrast ratio, longer battery life, increased power efficiency, and more.
